Interpretation note: Borehole diameter, fluid or mud properties, casing, invasion, tool centralization, and vertical resolution can alter every response shown here. Logs require calibration and should be interpreted jointly rather than as direct formation-property measurements.

Natural Gamma (GR)

Passive measurement of natural radioactive decay to delineate lithology (Sand vs. Clay).

Physics Principle
Status: Idle
Watch gamma rays (red) emit naturally from the clay layer due to K, U, and Th isotopes.
Clean Sand

Electromagnetic Induction (EM)

Primary fields induce secondary eddy currents in conductive formations to map plumes.

Physics Principle
Status: Idle
Tx coil emits alternating field. Conductive layer generates secondary field received by Rx.

Neutron Porosity

Fast neutrons collide with Hydrogen atoms in pores, thermalize, and return to the detector.

Physics Principle
Yellow: Fast Neutrons.
Blue: Thermal (slow) neutrons returning after hitting Hydrogen.
Rule: Fewer return neutrons = Higher Porosity.

Acoustic Televiewer (ATV)

Ultrasonic pulses map the borehole wall. Fractures unwrap as sine waves.

Physics Principle: Top-Down View
The transducer rotates rapidly.
When the beam hits the dipping fracture plane (red), amplitude drops due to acoustic impedance contrast.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)

Polarizes hydrogen protons to measure T₂ relaxation, differentiating bound vs. mobile water.

Physics Principle: Proton Spin
Large Pores (Mobile Water)
Small Pores (Bound Water)
Example Data: T₂ Distribution

Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF)

UV lasers excite PAHs in NAPL plumes, capturing fluorescence emission to map contamination.

Physics Principle
Tool deployed via direct push.
UV Laser fires into formation.
NAPL Source (Diesel)

Heat Pulse Flowmeter (HPFM)

Tracks extremely slow vertical groundwater movement using a thermal tracer.

Physics Principle
Status: Ambient upward flow.
Click to trigger heat pulse tracer.
Example Data: Temp vs Time
